Custom polystyrene cutting: 2D and 3D, what to know
Volumetric letters, raised logos, décor and models: hot-wire and CNC foam cutting open an almost unlimited range of shapes. An overview of techniques, materials and uses.
Two complementary techniques
2D hot-wire cutting slices foam along a programmed profile: perfect for volumetric letters, raised logos, giant numbers and any extruded shape of constant section. Fast, precise and dust-free, even on thick blocks.
3D CNC milling sculpts volume in every direction: characters, scale models, complex reliefs and organic shapes. Both techniques are often combined on a single project.
Which material?
EPS (expanded polystyrene) is light and cost-effective, ideal for large event volumes. XPS (extruded) has a denser, finer surface, better for paint and premium finishes. We advise the right density for your use, transport and exposure time.
Finishes that make the difference
- Coating and hardener for a resistant surface
- Paint, lacquer, mirror or metallic effect
- Flocking, vinyl, large-format print
- Fibreglass lamination for outdoor use
What is it used for?
Signs and giant letters, POS displays and window décor, booths and scenography, XXL sculptures, models and prototypes, technical packing and insulation. If you can picture it, we can cut it.
